Twenty-one sisters of our Indian Province attended a theoretical-practical course in Mumbai geared to foster the growth of our publishing house. The participants in this week long course, started from the 3-11 November 2008. They were from the editorial, marketing, website, graphics, audiovisual, export, computer, press, and diffusion departments. The encounter was guided by Srs. Natalia and Noemi from our International Secretariat for the Apostolate (SIA), Rome.
It was very enriching and useful. Input sessions followed by group activities allowed them to concretely apply what they were learning. This was an opportunity for each sister to get personally involved in the programmes. The course on the whole created an awareness and urgent need to place their talents and abilities at the service of the Gospel.
The topics dealt with included: the publishing world in general and Pauline publishing in particular; the organization of the Pauline publishing apostolate; the characteristics of the publishing team; the “beauty that saves the world”; the parts of a book and contracts; book production and its implications, and strategic planning for the publishing department. |
