19 MARCH, 2009
FIRST PROFESSION

The feast of St Joseph, 19th March 2009, was the day which God chose to consecrate our novices Aminah, Clara, Manju, Princy, Scandya and Silvya to Himself through their First Religious Commitment. As these sisters promised to God to follow Jesus our Divine Master through their lives in the Congregation of the Daughters of St Paul, indeed it was a day of joy and gratitude to God for His boundless love and faithfulness.

The solemn entrance to the Eucharistic celebration led by a dance by our postulants; set the tone for the entire celebration. Fr. George Chathanatt, the Vice Provincial of SSP as the main celebrant, the Eucharist was concelebrated by 8 priests and participated by the dear ones of our novices and all of us in the communities of Mumbai. Fr. George during his homily congratulated the novices and exhorted them to live lives worthy of their call as a Pauline Religious. Fr. George has been guiding them in their spiritual journey as their confessor. During the celebration of the Eucharist the novices one by one walked towards the altar and pronounced their vows in the assembly of the faithful after which they sang a hymn of praise expressing their love and fidelity to the Lord.

The celebration continued as everyone moved towards the hall to felicitate our newly professed sisters. The entire atmosphere was one of joy and happiness. The newly professed were welcomed to the hall with a welcome dance, and then followed the cutting of the cake, dances, music and introduction the sisters to the audience. The felicitation programme ended with agape that was shared by all. We wish the newly professed Sisters, God’s abundance of blessing as they are going to live what they have assimilated during their formative journey.
