“The Lord has done great things for me,” was a cry of joy from our newly professed sisters: Abha, Anisha, Aparijita, Carmela, Gisel, Hemanti, Kresitha and Shailaja.
The solemn Eucharist of the profession began on 18 March at 10 a.m. with an entrance procession leading to the altar the celebrants of the Eucharist, eight novices with lighted lamps in their hands accompanied by their relatives and led by a group of dancers (postulatnts and aspirants). Fr K V Sebastian SSP who was the main celebrant in his homily compared the dedication of oneself to God with that of the vine and its branches. The root is the important part of the vine. When the root is deep and the stem is strong, its branches are fresh and bears fruits in abundance. When God becomes the centre of our lives everything else becomes secondary. The liturgy of the profession was conducted by Srs Rosily and Roveinai who made it so beautiful and meaningful.
Sr Ancy John our Provincial who received the religious vows of the eight novices welcomed the newly professed to the Daughters of St Paul. Soon after the profession of religious vows, the newly professed expressed their joy of being dedicated to God by a beautiful hymn—May all our life something beautiful for God….
During the reception, Sr Sushma solemnized the function by felicitating our newly professed by welcoming them, their parents and relatives. Srs Meera and Sofia introduced the newly professed to the audience and gave brief information about the uniqueness and beauty of each of the sisters.
Everything has a beginning and everything comes to an end. The morning programme came to a conclusion by a thanksgiving speech by Sr Gisel followed by a fellowship meal. Once again to share the of joy of our young sisters a short programme was organized in the evening. All of us expressed our gratitude to God for these sisters of ours. Sr Hemanti thanked us all on behalf of her companions and concluded with a very meaningful song that expressed their gratitude to God and to each of us. Our novices were the main organizers. It was a wonderful day.
