Unworthy…
Yet chosen…
To hold a treasure…
Jesus Christ!!! Was the theme of our dear silver jubiliarians!!!
On the feast of Peter and Paul the two great pillars of the Church, Srs Rossette, Celine Jyothy and Magdalene celebrated 25 years of their faithfulness to God. It was a very significant milestone in their life. Indeed it was a great joy for the Indian province to share in their sentiments of profound gratitude and thanksgiving.
The morning prayer highlighted the powerful message of Peter and Paul “The Lord stood by me and gave me power”. This was what the jubiliarians experienced for the past 25 years of their dedicated selfless service through the various responsibilities entrusted to them.
The Solemn Eucharistic celebration was presided over by Bishop Agnelo. The Jubilarians entered the chapel carrying empty earthen vessels symbolizing their total surrender into the hands of the Divine Master. Bishop Agnelo in his homily highlighted the theme chosen by the Jubilarians, Unworthy… Yet chosen… To hold a treasure… Jesus Christ. He said, God has chosen us not because we are worthy instruments, to carry out his mission, rather he has chosen us as weak, unworthy, broken instrument to hold the treasure “Jesus Christ” He has called us from all eternity to participate in his divine plan. Twenty five years he trained us moulded us and shaped us to be his worthy instrument. He compared our vocation to a vessel in a potter’s hand shaped and reshaped in order to make it beautiful and useful. The sisters renewed their vows after doxology. After communion, Sr. Magdalene made a thanksgiving prayer, for all that the Lord had accomplished in their lives and for his faithfulness. Thereafter followed by a dance “the Magnificat” by Sr Silvia.
After the Mass we proceeded to the hall to felicitate our Jubilarians. Sr Metilda the organizer, of the morning programme welcomed the Bishop and all the sisters and introduced him to our 20 young new candidates. There was cutting and biting of the cake. The sisters introduced the Jubilarians by giving brief information about them. The morning’s programme came to a conclusion with a vote of thanks by Sr Rossette and a delicious breakfast was served for all.
