CONSECRATED LIFE -- CALLED TO MOVE BEYOND

Consecrated life is often considered a call to move beyond the ordinary pursuits and commitments of everyday life in pursuit of a deeper relationship with the divine. It involves dedicating oneself wholly to God through vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience. 

In this sense, consecrated life is indeed a call to move beyond the norms of society, to transcend the material concerns that often preoccupy individuals, and to focus instead on spiritual growth, service to others, and living out one's faith in a radical and committed way.

Consecrated individuals may live in religious communities or as hermits, but in either case, they seek to live lives of prayer, simplicity, and devotion to God. By renouncing certain worldly attachments and dedicating themselves entirely to God's service, those in consecrated life aim to embody a more profound expression of their faith and to be a witness to others of the possibility of living in communion with the divine.
