INTEGRAL ECOLOGY IN THE LIFE OF THE FAMILY

Pope Leo XIV in continuity with Pope Francis' Encyclical Laudato Si', emphasizes the faith-inspired motivations that move us to hear both the cry of the poor and the cry of the earth, and to respond to them in the best way possible. He has reaffirmed the importance of contemplating creation in order to understand 'the Creator's original plan... so that all creatures contribute to the realization of the Kingdom of God. Every creature has an important and specific role in his plan, and each one is "good"" with a special place was reserved for the human being as 'the most beautiful creature, made in the image and likeness of God. But this privilege comes with a great responsibility for care for creation which represents a true vocation for every human being, a commitment to be fulfilled within creation itself, without ever forgetting that we are creatures among creatures.'

This volume is addressed primarily to families, and is applicable to each of us. The effects of the pandemic have shown how deeply the world and the vital role of the family are interconnected. The family remains the place of caring, welcoming and sharing, a source of resilience, comfort and enduring relation-ships as we long for true peace that is disarmed and disarming.
