Saint Romero and Pope Francis  -  Revolutionaries of Tender Love  by Francis Gonsalves SJ Foreword by Arturo Sosa Sj, Superior General , Society of Jesus 2016-

“I am very happy that Fr Francis Gonsalves has written this book highlighting the thinking and spirituality of two great church leaders admired and respected not only by those in the Americas but by people all over the world. His work is highly commendable.”

Very Rev. Dr Fr Arturo Sosa, SJ, Superior General, Society of Jesus

“Fr Francis Gonsalves has compared and contrasted the life and message of two inspiring leaders of our times: Saint Romero and Pope Francis. His focus on Christian identity, church life and mission is a triad that we must seriously consider if we are to build the Church according to the mind and heart of Christ -- something which Pope Francis is insisting on.

Dr Fr Antonio Spadaro, SJ, Editor-in-chief, La Civiltà Cattolica, Rome

“By his visit to El Salvador, his love for Saint Romero and his many writings on him, Fr Francis Gonsalves proves to us that the message of Romero is a universal Christian message proclaiming the joy of the Gospel, the victory of love, the justice of God’s Kingdom and the power of God’s People.”

Prof. Dr Jon Sobrino, SJ, Universidad Centroamericana, San Salvador

“Two Shepherds have stimulated Fr Francis Gonsalves’s enthusiasm for the evangelical creativity that pervades this work. Both his heroes had started their ministry suspicious of the New and the Creative but their childlike openness to the words that the Lord ever whispers into sensitive hearts had transformed them into firebrands of prophetic love, as Saul of Tarsus was when he became Paul of Christ. These two dauntless disciples of the Crucified Christ are convincingly shown in this book to be sparks of resurrectional joy which has lit up that Fire which Jesus came to kindle upon earth. Who are they? Read the book!”

Prof. Dr Aloysius Pieris, SJ, Tulana Research Centre, Sri Lanka
