The Sermon on the Mount – Way to Blessedness
Fr Harold Vaz
This book will be of special interest and assistance to readers seeking a more detailed and fuller understanding of the most important and memorable teachings of Jesus contained in Mt 5:1-7:29, commonly referred to as the ‘Sermon on the Mount’. The Introduction provides knowledge about the composition process of the ‘Synoptic Gospels’ in general and of the historical context and the literary features and outline of the Gospel according to Matthew in particular. In the individual chapters, the main parts, sections and sub-sections of the Sermon on the Mount are explained in relevant and suitable topical detail avoiding footnotes and technicalities. Short recapitulations and reflections for contemporary times serve to sum up and also indicate avenues and issues for further actualisation of God’s Word. Those who intend to undertake their own personal or group study are provided needed and valuable assistance in one compact book.
