Pauline Book and Media Centre

On 8 September 1974, the Feast of Our Lady’s Nativity, the new (present) Book Centre and Reading Room were blessed and inaugurated in Kolkata (then Calcutta) by the then Ordinary, Archbishop Lawrence T Picachy who eventually became the Cardinal.

Slowly it gave way to the expansion of the existing book center. Since then, the book centre of Kolkata which is situated in the heart of the city has been a Light House to many. Being one of its kind in the entire state, the Book Centre attracted people from all over even from neighbouring countries like Nepal, Bangladesh etc. who looked for some good reading materials as well as religious articles.

Presently Sr Carmel Joseph is in charge and Sr Suba is assistant.
